Introduction
The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health ‘Basic Health & Safety Certificate’ has been designed as a first level course incorporating fundamental occupational health and safety knowledge for all employees that will enable them to contribute to any health and safety management system. The programme covers a defined syllabus and is assessed by a short objective test consisting of 30 multi-choice questions.

Target Group
Employees with little or no prior knowledge of current health & safety legislation who require a nationally recognised certificate.
Aims
To provide attendees with information on health and safety issues, which they will encounter during their working day.

- To carryout assigned tasks in both a safe and efficient manner
- To understand the legal responsibilities of both the employer and employee as defined by the Health & Safety at Work Act.
