How To Become An IPAF Instructor

To be a recognised IPAF instructor, you must first complete the necessary training and obtain the correct licences. An instructor course is seen as one of the most advanced courses to complete, as you must first complete operator training and MEWP for managers courses. Embarking on this training allows you to gain a deeper understanding of not only how to operate powered access platforms, but how to do so safely and teach others to follow the same processes.

What Is The Difference Between A MEWPs For Managers Course And IPAF Instructors Course?

The IPAF Instructor Training Course is more intensive and has strict entry requirements. This means that to qualify for the course, you’ll need to have had a MEWP operating experience for 36 months, an IPAF Operator Licence for a minimum of six months and an IPAF Demonstrator Licence for at least three months.

Over the five-day IPAF training course, you’ll not only need to demonstrate competence with operating MEWPs but also demonstrate elements of First Aid Training too. The full course will take up to 13 days and require you to perform sufficiently in each of the designated areas.
