The Genie GS-1932 has many advantages that make it attractive for hiring. It is well suited to the needs of many of operators working at height across many sectors such as electrical, industrial doors/access installation, facilities management, and fit-out.
The GS-1932 is a narrow scissor lift and can pass through standard single or double doors, narrow corridors or aisles, and tight interior spaces. It is ideal for working at height in warehouses, retail and office space, or confined plant rooms, for example.
Owing to its battery-powered drive, the GS-1932 offers quiet operation with zero emissions, making it suitable for indoor environments, occupied buildings, and noise-sensitive areas such as offices, shopping centres, schools, hospitals, or retail outlets.
Although classed as a compact scissor lift, at 227 kg, the safe working load (SWL) of the GS-1932 can easily accommodate up to two workers (indoors), tools, and materials: only one worker is allowed on the platform when working outside. Of course, make sure you don’t exceed the SWL. This means the GS-1932 is a practical choice for installation, maintenance, fit-out, electrical, and other contracting work.
The GS-1932 features a swing-out battery box and power-module trays for convenient access to components, helping make maintenance quick and straightforward. This is particularly of interest for those who own MEWPs or have platforms on long-term hire, but only if you’re qualified to do repairs and maintenance or your hire contract allows you to. Otherwise, speak with a qualified MEWP service and maintenance team if there are any issues. But as a bare minimum you should make sure you keep the MEWP charged with correct transformer and lead. It's also best practice to do daily pre-use inspections to pick up an potential issues.
While best placed for work indoors (on the right type of load bearing floors) the GS-1932 can also be used outdoors provided the ground is firm and level. This gives flexibility for external maintenance, installation work, or mixed indoor/outdoor jobs. But remember, when working outside the deck is limited to one operative.
The advantages listed above means the GS-1932 is especially suited to jobs where space is limited, noise or emissions are a concern, and reliability/mobility are priorities. Is the GS-1932 right for your next work-at-height project?
