IPAF 1b / 3a / 3b Training Course

Aim

Designed to instruct the delegate in the safe operation MEWPs in the following categories;  

• Static Boom (1b): Self-propelled booms (outriggers), trailers/push-arounds, vehicle-mounted platforms

• Mobile Vertical (3a): Scissor lifts, vertical personnel platforms (mobile)

• Mobile Boom (3b): Self-propelled booms (cherry pickers)

Objectives

Upon completion candidate to be able to safely operate MEWPs in the 1b, 3a and 3b categories including performing pre-use checks. 

Course Content & Length

• 4 hours self-paced online learning*

• Half day at a Horizon Training Centre

• Introduction to IPAF and MEWPs

• Legislations, Regulations, Standards and Best Practice

• MEWP categories explained

• Structural parts identified

• Pre-use inspection/handover requirements

• Safe operating methods and hazards to be observed

• Practical training on selected categories

• Practical assessment on selected categories

• Issuing of IPAF Operator's Log book

Course Format

• 4 hour online training (link provided upon registration)*

• Practical Exam is in-person

Entry Requirements

• 16+ Years of age

*Important Information: Delegates who complete their theory training online prior to attending must still complete and pass their theory test at our training depot before being permitted to proceed to the practical assessment. Don't do your theory training too long before doing the theory test at our training centre as you risk forgetting the course content.
